The why behind Facebook’s burgeoning revenue numbers
Facebook’s growing… fast.
The number of monthly active users is 2.07 billion. When you think about that’s almost 30% of the world population on Facebook. This accounts for 16% year on year growth.
The revenue for Quarter 3 totaled to $10.3 billion, 87% of which came through mobile.
Starting 2012, Facebook revised its strategy to focus on mobile and began showing adverts.
It was first believed that mobile ads would disrupt user experience and hence the delay.
The next stop for monetization would be Asian markets which is a tough cookie but if it succeeds then Facebook would usher in an era of new spurts in growth.
