An email list is like a personal ATM machine. You can make money out of it whenever you want to.

And most bloggers regret not building an email list starting from day one.

If you build a list you could very well fast track your way to success and income without depending on a single affiliate network or ad network.

Most people fail to realize the power of an email list.

It’s difficult to drive traffic to your sites on a consistent basis

Place optin forms prominently

You might have seen a lot of people placing opt-in forms directly on their sidebar, where it hardly gets any attention.

Most people are banner blind and that extends to opt-in forms placed on sidebars too.

Instead alter your design to be sidebar free so that the clutter doesn’t hinder conversions.

Place opt-in forms at the bottom of blogposts or seed them throughout the post.

This ensures that they get the attention they deserve.

Better, include lead magnets which are specific opt-in offers created for the blogpost. For instance a blogpost on 10 best autoresponders would do well with a lead magnet on email marketing strategies.

Make it more appealing and call it – The best email marketing strategy ever or something like that.

This can increase conversions manifold.

Design better landing pages with Optin Monster

Tools like Optin Monster make designing great looking landing pages a walk in the park.

And well-designed pages attract leads like flies on honey.

If it looks good visitors think that the offer too must be good. It’s biased thinking but works nonetheless.

There are additional features that help you get more out of existing traffic because sometimes great looking forms alone aren’t enough.

Steady up outreach

Lead capture isn’t just for selling affiliate stuff or courses.

If you’re offering an SEO service, design service or anything else for that matter, you need to be able to capture leads on a regular basis.

Often times outreach is the way to go.

To get clients for my freelance writing business I often resort to cold mailing and free tools like Streak help me understand if the mail’s been opened or not.

I also use tools to capture and sort email ids from websites and organize them with Buffer and Buzzsumo.

There are tons of tools that can assist with the process and make outreach and lead generation easier.

So what do you think of our post on lead capturing?
